Many say the economy is getting better. Do you really believe that when you go to the gas stations to fuel your vehicle? Fuel prices are outrageous. Here are a few tips to help you increase mileage, save fuel and keep more money in your pocket.
Foot off the Pedal
Remember the old saying, "Put your pedal to the medal?" I use to hear my mom say this every time there was someone going really slow in front of her. She wanted them to hurry up and get out of her way.
Now days, you need to keep your foot off the pedal if you want to save money on fuel. If you lighten up on the accelerator you actually get more miles per gallon. When driving 55mph versus 65mph you can gain up to two miles per gallon.
Keep A Well Oiled Machine
A vehicle needs care and maintenance just like your body does. If you eat donuts everyday and do not exercise, your body will get sluggish and lazy. If you do not keep you engine running properly with oil changes and air filter changes, your engine will run sluggish and lazy. A well maintained engine will burn less fuel.
Overexerting you engine will also burn more fuel. Avoid the start and stops as much as possible. If you live in a big city with tons of lights, then just ease on the gas pedal when going and gently put on the brake when stopping. This process will also help maintain your transmission if it is automatic.
Running Your Air
In most places, especially during the summer, it is almost impossible to drive without your air conditioner on. When driving on an open highway, using the air conditioner with all your windows closed, will decrease wind resistance. When driving in stop and go traffic, if you open your windows and turn off the air, then you will lighten your fuel consumption.
Brakes And Tires
If you live in snow country, then you use studs and big snow tires. As soon as the weather permits, change them, because they will cause you to burn more fuel.
Have a habit of keeping your foot on the brake and gas pedal at the same time? Stop! The smallest pressure on your brake will cause drag, wearing out your brakes sooner, wearing out your tires sooner, and it will cause more fuel usage.
Hydrogen Generator
Another way to save money on fuel, is to have a hydrogen generator installed on your vehicle. Also known as an HHO Kit. It is very safe and can increase your mileage up to 40% to 60%. It also helps clean up our air quality by burning all the excess fuel that comes out of the exhaust pipe. It will fit on any size vehicle and works with gas engines or diesel engines.
I have one installed on my 05 Dodge diesel truck. I have already increased my mileage by 25%, which has kept more money in my pocket and best of all, I am helping keep our air clean. This is all thanks to Make Fuel Safe.
Benjamin Franklin quoted: "A penny saved is a penny earned!"
I am saving every penny I can when fueling my vehicle and making our air quality better by following these tips, how about you?
