What transportation alternative should you choose electric bike or a car? Which one is better? Which one is more environmentally friendly? Which one is more convenient?

I think it all depends on your needs. Everyone is different, has different lifestyles and different needs. For example you obviously would not by e-bike for farming or heavy duty constriction needs. And you would not necessary need a car if you live just a couple of blocks away from work in a high traffic area.

Let compare the pros for each one and make an educated decision about our everyday transportation.

Electric bikes pros:

Electric bikes are very affordable. They can cost anywhere between US $700.00 and US $3500.00. Not only e-bikes are affordable to purchase but the maintenance is a piece of cake. First of all riders are not required to get insurance. Think about all of the money that could be saved. (some people can save up to $4,000/ year on insurance alone). As an extra bonus e-bike users are not required to have drivers license, which makes them perfect for young adults or teens.

Parts for your electric scooter could be purchase online and installed with very little or no knowledge of mechanics. There is no need for oil changes or tune-ups.

Because the motor is electric there is no need for fuel which saves users a lot of money. Especially if you take into account rising fuel prices. Not to mention the environmental benefits of zero-emission motor.

The convenience of e-bikes is undeniable. Never again will you have to be stuck in traffic as electric bikes are allowed in bicycle lane. Its compact size makes electric scooters easy to store and park. Imagine being able to park anywhere. They are easy and fun to operate.

Cars pros:

Cars are very comfortable to drive. Drivers are always dry and warm (except when driving a convertible). Cars offer a lot of storage in a trunk as well as inside of the vehicle. Depending on the model and the make of a vehicle multiple passengers are able to travel simultaneously. Cars are lot safer than electric scooters.

Accidents are a lot less likely to be fatal. Cars are much faster than e-bikes and can travel longer distances.

It is up to you as a user to decide which transportation method suits you better. Or maybe have both. Use cars for family and out of town trips. E-bikes to get to work or school commute to avoid traffic and save money.

Motorcycles Vs Electric Bikes

Motorcycle vs Electric bike which one is better? In my opinion there is no better or worst it all depends on what you are looking for. For example if you were looking for working clothe. The clothe you buy would depend on the type of work you do. If you are a banker you would not buy farmers' clothe and vice versa. The transportation method you will use will depend on your needs and desires just as your working clothe depends on your line of work.

Benefits of Electric Scooters:

E-bikes are running on electric motor which makes them cheaper to ride (especially with fuel prices rising). Electric motor also means no harmful effect on environment. Electric bikes are one of the greenest forms of transportation just plug them in to charge and ride.

E-bikes do not require riders to get insurance or drives license. No insurance policy saves riders substantial amounts of money on monthly basis. No license policy makes it a great way of transportation for students or drivers with suspended licenses.

Electric bikes are safer to ride as most of them do not go past 24 to 32 km/h. In addition e-bikes are classified as bicycles and are allowed in bicycle lanes. Riding in bicycle lane could save you a lot of time especially in high traffic areas.

Lastly, electric scooters are light and compact which makes them easy to store. You would not have much trouble finding a parking spot or storing your e-bike in your apartment.

Downside of Electric Scooter:

E-bikes are battery operated which does not allow long traveling distance. If you do decide to go out of town it could be a real challenge to find a station to recharge your electric bike. As the world progress we will start seeing a lot more electric charge stations, unfortunately that is not the case yet.

Benefits of Motorcycles:

Motorcycles allow riders to go on the long trips without worry as gas stations are everywhere. It could be slightly uncomfortable to travel for a long time on a motorcycle but nevertheless you have that option.

Motorcycles are a lot faster than e-bikes and cars for that matter. They allow riders to get to places faster. Speed also helps with longer journeys.

Motorcycles are excellent for high traffic urban areas as they are a lot smaller than cars and could easy fit between the cars in traffic.

Downside of motorcycles:

Motorcycle riders are required to get both insurance and drivers license. That puts motorcycles in a disadvantage as compared to electric bikes.

Motorcycles speed makes them a lot more dangerous. Every accident is a lot more likely to be fatal at higher speeds.

Gas motor in motorcycles is not good for environment. Carbon dioxide caused by motorcycle motor is one of the causes for green house effect.

It is up to you as a user to decide which one of these two transportation methods fits your life style better.
